Differences between candidates for Littleton City Council are like night and day

Kyle Schlachter

(Party Affiliation: Democrat)
Incumbent mayor who has led Littleton over the last four years to be a place where businesses like Cherry Cricket, Little Man Ice Cream, and Denver Beer have sought out. Schlachter is a lifelong Democratic Party member, father of two public school kids, and champion for housing options, property right, safer streets, and investment in our downtown. Kyle’s tenure as mayor has seen the strongest fiscal grounding for Littleton in decades, with more city investment in streets and infrastructure than during the entire prior decade. Schlachter is forward-looking, engaged, and committed to the work of our city government. Kyle4Littleton website →

Patrick Driscoll

(Party affiliation: Republican)
Mr. Driscoll has stated that he didn’t even want to run again for Council. He has said he only became a candidate due to Rooted In Littleton’s anti-housing measure, called Question 3A. He was caught on video stealing his opponent’s campaign literature from a citizen’s porch in a widely-covered news story this month. A long time Republican, his record on racial issues, the environment, and immigrants put him aligned with the rightwing stance we see in  national politics.

Joel Zink

(Party affiliation: Democrat)
With his day job being Deputy Chief District Attorney for Arapahoe County, Joel knows what is involved in keeping communities safe. He’s been a Littleton City Council member for nearly a year, proving his commitment to the work on behalf of residents. He fights for the values we share as neighbors: fairness, openness, and a deep care for safety and community. Joel believes we can tackle housing, public safety, infrastructure, and all the challenges ahead in a way that truly reflects who we are. Joel for Littleton website →

David Carlton

(Party affiliation: Republican)
Mr. Carlton heads “Colorado Express Lending, LLC” which is not accredited with the Better Business Bureau and has scant information about what it does or even where it operates. What can be found is court dockets filed by this company against individuals as a creditor, from Texas to Florida.

Amanda Henderson

(Party affiliation: Democrat)
A longtime Littleton resident, educator, and nonprofit leader, Amanda Henderson brings a deep commitment to inclusive community building and thoughtful leadership. She’s focused on safe neighborhoods, housing options for every stage of life, and economic growth that reflects Littleton’s unique character. With years of experience bringing people together across differences, she’s ready to foster collaboration and ensure every neighbor has a voice in shaping Littleton’s future. Amanda is working for a welcoming, vibrant, and resilient Littleton — a future where families and neighbors of all ages can flourish. Amanda4Littleton website →

Curt Samuelson

(Party affiliation: Republican)
Mr. Samuelson is notable for his MAGA tweets (deleted only on October 20, 2025) including Trump campaign retweets, celebrating MAGA takeover of US Capitol Building on January 6, 2020, retweeting Elon Musk anti-immigrant stuff, and sharing anti-liberal memes.

Merrill Stillwell

(Party affiliation: Unaffiliated)
A proud Littleton native, small business owner, and father of two, Merrill Stillwell is running to bring practical, community-focused leadership to City Council. Merrill believes in smart, responsible growth — protecting the character of our neighborhoods while making Littleton more affordable and livable for all generations. He will champion safe streets, transparent government, thriving small businesses, and investments in parks, trails, and culture that reflect Littleton’s unique charm. Stillwell4Littleton website →

Darren Lemorande

(Party affiliation: Unaffiliated)
Mr. Lemorande is notable for his Instagram follows of rightwing extremist and MAGA accounts (deleted the day he filed to run for Littleton’s council). His account followed PatriotMindset and End.The.Wokeness, TurningPointUSA and LibsMemeCentral, and Rep. Boebert, Heritage Foundation, to name just a sampling. Mr. Lemorande’s voting record shows he has never even voted in a Littleton city council election [see source →].
